Support for local businesses through Covid-19

East Devon Adapt & Thrive LogoEast Devon District Council has provided funding to support businesses through the ever changing and difficult landscape for business during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Business Information Point and Cosmic are providing a range of free webinars and one-to-one support for businesses across the area to support your specific needs.

If you are starting a business for the first time and need help deciding if self-employment is the right thing for you as well as navigating the important aspects of launching your first business, we have a range of support to get you started on the right foot.

For existing businesses, including those with a employees to manage we can provide specific support, whether that be reassessing your business strategy, identifying digital opportunities or training staff members, our advisors are here to work with you and help you through any challenges you may be facing.

This support is available completely free to any business whose primary location is in East Devon.

BIP Team

All of the support through this programme is completely free and we have created various packages of support depending on your stage of business, from pre-starts to existing businesses.

  • Webinars:

    Together with digital specialists, Cosmic we have a range of webinars to help existing businesses and those looking to start a business for the first time. They will be run online and presented by experienced business and digital advisors. The webinars cover a range of topics from self-employment basics, to social media.

  • Bespoke Advice

    In addition to the webinars, we also have individual, one-to-one support available as well. Our advisors have a wealth of experience, dealing with a wide range of business sectors.

    Having an independent, and completely impartial professional listen and work through issues with you on a one-to-one basis can be a very valuable resource. We also have a great number of local contacts and can signpost, advise and provide additional training as required.

    Our advice is not generic information you can find on the internet but tailored specifically to the needs of your business and borne out of experience having worked with thousands of businesses across the region.

  • Startup Webinars

    Together with digital specialists Cosmic we have created a four part startup programme, run online and presented by our experienced business and digital advisors.

    The webinars will take you logically through from the basics of self-employment and starting your first business, through to learning how to create you own business website and Facebook business page.
