Preparing for GDPR
The new EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will be coming into force on 25th May 2018. The focus of GDPR is on people, and protecting their personal Identifiable information (PII) and grants them rights over their own data.
This is going to have a substantial impact on businesses, however big or small as it’s changing the ways in which customer information is collected, stored and processed. There will also be increased fines for businesses that breach their data protection obligations.
Many small businesses are naturally concerned about how these new rules are going to affect them and so we have put on this free workshop in order to clarify what the new GDPR rules mean and how you can be prepared for them.
Data and cyber security firm, Securious, have kindly offered to share their expertise to prepare your business for the new regulations. By the end of this workshop you should have a clear understanding of the changes under GDPR, how to map any customer data you currently hold and best practices for how to manage it in accordance with the new rules. You will also learn how to properly manage any data breaches that may occur.
To be eligible to attend this free workshop you need to be based in one of the following local council areas: East Devon, Mid Devon, West Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge or Exeter. If you are unsure, you can check by entering your postcode into the Government Council Checker. If you are outside of these areas please call us on 01837 659 059 before making a booking to avoid disappointment on the day.
