How To Grow Your Business
This workshop is part of a funded support programme called Innovation in Healthy Ageing which runs across the Heart of the South West area. The programme has been designed to help small businesses and social enterprises with projects to introduce new and innovative products, services and technology designed to help people live in their homes for longer, tackle loneliness, and increase independence and wellbeing.
There are various ways to grow a successful business and during this free workshop lead by an experienced business advisor you’ll explore and discuss the typical routes available and how to choose the most appropriate option for your business. This will include looking at managing growth organically as well as other methods such as through acquisitions, mergers and franchising.
We’ll look at options for business finance such as grants and loans as well as recruitment of staff and the development of new services.
We will cover:
- Different methods of growing a business
- How to finance growth such as applying for grants and loans
- Acquisitions, mergers and franchises
- Recruitment and employment law
- Adding new products and services

This workshop is to help businesses and social enterprises with projects to introduce new and innovative products, services and technology designed to help people live in their homes for longer, tackle loneliness, and increase independence and wellbeing. To be eligible to attend this free workshop you need to be based in one of the following local council areas: East Devon, Mid Devon, West Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torbay, Plymouth or Exeter. To bring with you:
You must bring with you a copy of your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) Number that you will have received when you registered with HMRC. We need this to show our funders that you are operating a real business so that we can provide the support at no cost to you.
There will also be some forms that you need to complete and bring along with you to the workshop. Full details will be sent out in your confirmation email.
