Crowdfunding is an alternative source of funding for all types of businesses from community projects to large building developments. With over 45 platforms in the UK and Europe, choosing the right platform can be difficult.
Some platforms enable you to offer rewards to funders while others are more traditional by giving investors an equity share for a financial commitment. Social enterprises or charities may opt for a donation style campaign that promotes a particular cause. These are just a few of the main types of platforms available and choosing the right one is only the first step towards your funding goals.
Equally important is providing the necessary information to persuade the platform to offer your project as well as convincing investors to put their money into your project, your business and you.
The workshop will help you find the right platform for your project and provide tips on how best attract investment.
We will also spend some time discussing other options to fund your business such as available grants and loans, including how to give yourself the best chance of securing funding.
We will cover:
- What crowdfunding is and how you can use it
- What the differing types of platforms offer
- The benefits and negatives
- How to apply and what makes a crowdfunding project successful
- Other types of small business funding and how to apply
