DESCRIPTION:Join us at Hole Farm\, by kind permission of Richard Sampson\, for an insightful and engaging farm walk focused on countryside stewardship and rural wellbeing support.\n\n\nThis event will feature key speakers and experts from a variety of sectors: \n\nAn introductory talk will discuss how Hole Farm has opted into the Countryside Stewardship scheme followed by a farm walk to showcase practical examples on the land.\nJo Garlick from the Forestry Commission will lead discussions on woodland management and sustainability.\nRichard Sampson will share his experiences with the Farming Community Network (FCN).\nDavid Pett – Agricultural Advisor – Future Farming Resilience – Business Information Point\nPC Lucy Wyatt & PC Lee Skinner – Rural Affairs Policing Team – Rural Crime will discuss rural crime prevention and safety strategies.\nNikki Rattenbury and Sam Younger from Heart of the South West (HoTSW) Trading Standards will provide insights on trading standards relevant to local farmers and landowners.\n\n  \nFood and refreshments will be provided\, and please submit any dietary requirements via our booking form by Tuesday the 8th of October. \nThe Rural Support and Wellbeing project\, run by the Heart of the South West Trading Standards service\, aims to raise awareness of the rural support services available to the farming community\, through specialist workshops and representation at rural events\, such as livestock markets and agricultural shows. \nThis project is being delivered in Cornwall\, Devon\, Dorset\, and Somerset as part of the Future Farming Resilience programme\, funded by DEFRA to support farmers and land managers. Sarah Lloyd\, senior veterinary officer from the Animal Plant Health Agency (APHA) will be discussing notifiable diseases\, such as Bluetongue and Avian Influenza. July’s webinar features guest speakers from the following organisations: \n\nThe Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI)\nFarmerardos \n\nRABI is the charity at the heart of farming\, providing expert mental health and wellbeing support\, as well as financial\, emotional and practical help to farming people in England\, Wales and Northern Ireland. \nFarmerados believe that problems can feel a little lighter when shared with others who understand farming life. Farmerados don’t fix or try to solve. Farmerardos just provide a friendly\, supportive space to share and connect with others in the same boat.
