SUMMARY:Practical Hedgerow & Soil Assessment Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a practical demonstration of how to undertake the Sustainable Farming Incentive Actions for Hedgerows and Soils\n\n\nBetween 2021 and 2027\, the government will reduce and then stop Direct Payments. Instead\, farmers will be supported to improve the environment\, improve animal health and welfare\, and reduce carbon emissions. This is the biggest change in farm support for generations and all farmers need to think how they will adapt. \nThe Future Farming Resilience Fund has been funded by Defra to allow us to support farmers and land managers with this transition. The support is free and available from October 2022 to any farmer or land manager currently in receipt of BPS payments. \n  \nJoin us for a practical demonstration of how to undertake the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) Actions for Hedgerows (HRW1) and Soils (SAM1)\nBy kind courtesy of K S Coles \n\nWe will discuss the requirements of the Soil and Hedgerow Actions and what they aim to achieve\nWe will demonstrate how to undertake these assessments to the required standard\nLearn about other funding opportunities in the Wessex Water phosphate reduction target areas.\n\n\nThis is an outdoor on-farm event so please come appropriately dressed. Light refreshments provided – please let us know of any dietary requirements. \nNB: There is currently a one-way system in place near Eastcombe\, due to a road closure on the Cothelstone road out of Bishops Lydeard. \n\nEligibility: \nThis workshop is part of the Future Farming Resilience programme & is available to any farmer or land manager in Devon\, Somerset\, Dorset\, or Cornwall currently in receipt of BPS payments. \nTo be eligible to participate in the Future Farming Resilience project and receive subsequent 1:1 support or attend further workshops\, you will be required to complete a Monitoring Information form. Forms will be provided by your advisor\, at a workshop\, or emailed to you after an online workshop. Please ensure forms are completed swiftly. Please be aware that BIP may limit further access to specialist workshops or 1:1 advice\, if the form is not completed. \nIf you have any questions please call us on 01837 659 059 or email team@businessinfopoint.co.uk.
