SUMMARY:West Devon Tourism Business Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Get your voice heard. For businesses in the tourism industry\, have your say on issues affecting you and help shape future support & funding.\n\n\nTourism is at the heart of the South Hams and West Devon regions. From independently-owned holiday rentals and cafés to hotels and visitor attractions\, the tourism economy supports jobs\, communities and the character of our area. Now is your opportunity to help shape what comes next at this free symposium event. \nBIP are working with South Hams District and West Devon Borough Councils to support their in-depth study of the visitor economies in both areas. So if you run a local business operating in the tourism industry then we would like to invite you to have your voice heard and share your thoughts\, issues and suggestions. \nThe aim is simple but powerful: to understand what’s really happening on the ground\, identify the biggest barriers facing tourism businesses\, and ensure future investment and support genuinely meets local needs. \nAlready supportive of their visitor economies through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) initiatives like investment for small businesses and promotion\, they want to go further by highlighting the most significant barriers to the sector and consulting on how future funding can be shaped to better support and enhance the economic situation of the local sectors. \nAttendees will be asked to participate in two breakout sessions\, allowing you to share your feedback and suggestions. On registration you will be asked to choose two out of the three options below: \n\nThe impact of recruitment and seasonality in tourism – facilitated by DWP\nIs Tourism being held back in Devon – facilitated by LVEP/Visit Devon\nSupporting the future of tourism – facilitated by LVEP\n\nWe would also like you to participate in a short survey which will be sent to you on registration. \nRefreshments and a light lunch will be provided free of charge and there will also be an opportunity to network with other local business owners and meet a range of suppliers who will be exhibiting. \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to have your say and help strengthen and grow the local tourism sector.
