Green Impact Fund
The Green Impact Fund is a capital grant scheme which is open to all businesses and community organisations in the Devon and Torbay area.
The new £1.8 million funding programme, launched by the UK government as part of the Devon and Torbay Devolution Deal and managed by Devon County Council, aims to support businesses and community organisations in their efforts to adopt sustainable practices and technologies.
How much funding can I apply for?
Applicants can apply for a minimum of £5,000 and a maximum of £49,999.
Grants can cover up to 80% of project costs for revenue-generating enterprises and up to 100% for non-profit organisations.
An organisation may apply for more than one project, provided that the total grant sought does not exceed the above maximum amounts.
For any item over £1,000 in your project budget, you must provide written quotes to justify the cost. Items worth between £1,000 and £2,500 require two written quotes, while items between £2,500 and £10,000 require three written quotes.
For items worth more than £10,000, please invite three organisations to submit written formal quotations based on written specifications. The quotes must follow the same specifications and must be submitted with your application.
You will need to demonstrate proof of all relevant statutory approvals or permissions required for your project to proceed, such as planning permission.
Grants will be paid in arrears and normally in stages, depending on your timescales and outputs or milestones. We expect you to make a maximum of two claims over the course of the project.
You must show that you have sufficient funds to pay for the project costs upfront until you claim for and are paid the grant payment.
Awarded grants must be spent by 31 March 2025.
Expressions of Interest have now closed. Please get in touch to find out how we can still help you prepare for future green grants when they become available.

How we’ve helped other businesses secure funding
"This exciting milestone wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support and expertise of Adela Mei from Business Info Point (BIP) and Andrew Moss Robinson from Carbon Sense.
Their dedication, knowledge, and guidance were instrumental in helping us secure this vital funding. We're immensely grateful for their amazing contributions and look forward to moving towards a more sustainable future for our club."

How we can help you with your funding application
While a prior decarbonisation and energy assessment is not essential for Green Impact Fund applicants, businesses or organisations that do already have a carbon reduction plan will be given priority in the grant scheme.
If you don’t have a decarbonisation plan, but are successful in the application stage, you will be offered help with identifying the best options for decarbonising your organisation.
