Join Prosper for free, transformative business support
Join our free business support programme for pre-start and trading businesses in Mid Devon, East Devon and Exeter.
If you’re running a business—or thinking of starting one—you can now access practical business support that is shaped by you and your goals. Partnering with digital agency and social enterprise Cosmic, Prosper is delivered by our experienced local advisors and funded by Devon County Council through the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund.

Eligibility
This support is available to businesses or entrepreneurs based in or looking to start up in East Devon, Exeter, and Mid Devon. If you're not sure which area you come under, you can check by inputting your postcode into the Council Checker.
If you previously accessed Prosper support during the last round, you are entitled to join the programme again if you're looking for help with new growth strategies.
You must be able to commit to a minimum of four hours of support.

How it works
Every eligible business or pre-start will be offered an in-depth one-to-one session with one of our experienced business advisors. This is your chance to explore your priorities and decide on the type of support that will add the most value.
You can choose from three types of review:
Business-focused review
Covering planning and growth, financial management, marketing, innovation, HR, procurement, resilience, sustainability, and more.
Person-centric review
Ideal for pre-starts. Focusing on confidence, motivation, barriers to progress, time management, work-life balance, and the essentials of business planning.
Digital-focused review
Exploring how digital tools and technologies can drive growth, efficiency, and security across your business.
If none of these review types quite fit, the support can be tailored to your specific needs and the challenges you want to address.
After your initial one-on-one meeting, you will receive follow-up support that includes personalised recommendations and guidance on your next steps. You must be able to commit to a minimum of four hours of support.

Join the Prosper programme and, following your initial one-to-one session, your advisor will work with you to decide which workshops are best suited to you.
