Woodland Creation Grants and Incentives

This workshop takes you through a step by step guide to help you to understand the advantages and application processes when considering planting trees on your farm as part of a diversification plan.

The many holistic environmental benefits of woodland creation will be highlighted such as increased biodiversity, flood alleviation, soil stabilisation enhanced water quality and carbon capture as well as mitigating pollution and improving air quality.

Information to online calculators will be shared to help you to measure the positive environmental impacts of tree planting schemes.

The workshop will be broken down into three sections:

• Section One of the workshop will look at an overview of the financial incentives.
• Section Two will look at revenue opportunities and feature a case study to demonstrate in practical terms the opportunities.
• Section Three then takes you through the practical steps of the grant process itself, followed by a Q&A session.

Eligibility:

This workshop is available to any farmer or land manager in Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Cornwall, or the Isles of Scilly currently in receipt of BPS payments.
